Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Planners tables.
Viewers can look forward to learning which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
