PSG Defeats Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now claimed the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.

The European champions seemed to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the showdown featuring the Ligue 1 winners and the Coupe de France holders after the French winger opened the scoring in the opening stages.

However, the southern French side struck two times in the closing moments to seize a surprise advantage. First, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial leveler in the dying seconds to force the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, saving crucial kicks from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a convincing shootout win.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.
